About Me

I’m Miriam, 27, living in the UK. My family are from the UK, Macau and Hong Kong, and I am openly bi. I have struggled with my mental health all my life and the list of diagnoses over the years is long (depression, anxiety, BPD, anorexia)… but I am determined to use all of it to make a positive difference.

I have an MSc from Kings College London in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health. I am also a mindfulness teacher, an associate for The Resilience Formula and a qualified mental health first aider.

Before that, I graduated from Oxford University in 2015 and then worked in a corporate job for 5 years. It was there that I realised I wanted a career in mental health.

I have called this blog All In Our Head because we collectively have the power to change how mental illness is viewed by society, through sharing personal stories and raising awareness. Mental illness is not imagined, it is real, and addressing the stigma around it can actually save lives.
